Great Shampoo Soap Recipe With Argan and Avocado Oil

Note: This is a soap. Meaning the pH will be close to 8. It’s recommended to use conditioner afterwards to balance the pH and maintain the moisture.

One way to ensure a good shampoo bar is to increase the percentage of castor oil. In my normal recipes, I use 5% castor oil which is enough to provide a slightly thickness effect to the lather. However, in shampoo bars, I use ~16% castor oil which ensures that I will get a nice thick lather in the end. On top of that, I use argan and avocado oil which work perfectly in protecting the scalp from dryness and irritation. It’s also easy to rinse off and not sticky to the hair.

Ingredients and properties (percentages shown at the end of the video):

1. Coconut oil: creating beautiful lather because of the natural content of lauric acid
2. Castor oil: gives thickness to the lather
3. Shea butter: creates a creamy lather due to the high natural content of stearic acid
4. Olive Oil: offers conditioning properties
5. Avocado and argan oil: these will ensure a bar that will moisturise and protect the scalp from dryness.
