Engagement = Profits?

After COVID, we didn’t just lose connection — we lost engagement.

You’ve probably heard of:

  • Engaged employees (they care, they grow, they contribute)

  • Disengaged employees (they do the bare minimum)

  • Actively disengaged employees (they’re quietly sabotaging the company)

Sounds extreme? It’s not.

📉 According to Gallup, 18% of U.S. employees were actively disengaged in 2022 — and the global trend isn’t any better.

That shocked me.

But I also believe this:
Most people aren’t bad people.
They’re just in the wrong environment, under the wrong leadership, chasing the wrong mission.

Stress. Broken cultures. Empty work. It all adds up.

So what can you do?

Start with your why.
Then build a team of people who share it.

When you hire for alignment — not just skill — you don’t need to “motivate” people.
The right people will  already be motivated. The tricky thing is how to avoid them getting demotivated.
